Hugh Vance Hannah, who has been ill with heart trouble for several months, died on Monday evening at his home on East Howard Street. A short funeral service was held at the home on Wednesday morning after which the body was taken to his former home, Mansfield, ill for burial. Funeral services at the Mansfield Methodist Church were held at 11. He was born in Mansfield, Sept 30, 1861, the s/o David and Frances Hannah. He was married to Luella CLOUSER of White Health, Ill Nov 23, 1886. She survives him with one son, Charles Hannah, several grandchildren and one great grandchild. A brother, John Hannah was here Sunday from Mansfield to visit him. He moved here from Mansfield in 1919. Before that he and his won conducted a general store. They bought the Adam Hanna (sic) farm and Mr. Hannah (sic) lived in the tenant house on that place before moving to Waveland. He was a respected citizen and earnest member of the Methodist Church. Rev. NT Gottschall; Mr. and Mrs. Zura Monroe and Wilfred Greve accompanied the family. Mr. Gottschall had charge of the funeral assisted by Rev. EC Kelly.

Waveland, May 30 – Hugh Vance Hannah, retired farmer and business man died at his home here at 5:45 o’clock this afternoon following an illness of eight months duration with heart trouble. Born in Mansfield, Illinois Sept 30, 1861 he was the son of David and Frances Hannah. He married Luella Clouser at White Heath, Ill Nov 24, 1886. Previous to coming to this vicinity in 1919 Mr. Hannah had owned a general store at Mansfield, Ill.  Mr. Hannah was a member of the Waveland Presbyterian Church. Surviving are the widow, one son, Charles Hannah; one brother, John Hannah, Mansfield, Ill; several grandchildren and one great grandchild.  Short funeral rites will be held at the family home here at 7:30 o’clock Wednesday morning following which the body will be taken to Mansfield where additional services will be conducted at the Methodist Church at 11 a.m.
